Elvis' Imperials – Formed in the early 60s by Jake Hess, the group brought their unique sound to the Gospel music world. In 1969, the group was recognized with their first Dove Award from the Gospel Music Association as 'Best Male Group' of the year. In 1969, the call came from Colonel Tom Parkers’ office that Elvis would be opening in Las Vegas and they wanted the Imperials to open with him. The Imperials stayed with Elvis until the end of 1971.
In 1997, Elvis Presley Enterprises, 'EPE', did a 'reunion' concert in Memphis to commemorate the passing of Elvis which rekindled interest in the Imperial group. Known now as 'Elvis' Imperials' (recently sanctioned and licensed by EPE), the group features: Terry Blackwood, Joe Moscheo, Royce Taylor and Darrell Toney. They continue to travel extensively around the world performing with Elvis Presley In Concert - an astounding production that reunites former Elvis band mates live on stage with a state of the art video-projected Elvis.
